Control systems

State International Engineering offer high quality control systems to compliment our manifold packages.

These control systems allow accurate pressure, temperature and valve position monitoring at critical points around the manifolds. They also contain hydraulic power units that allow remote operation of any number of actuated valves within the manifolds.

The control systems are designed and certified for use in hazardous areas. They are typically designed for use in Zone 1, gas group 2B and temperature class T3. However we can produce panels for operating in harsher conditions if the project requires. All State control panels can be IP rated up to IP66, suitable for use on open deck drill floors in offshore environments.

All our control system meet the minimum requirements of API 16C; however State can supply more comprehensive control systems.

Each control system unique and can incorporate displays for as many drill floor signals as required, including extra manifold pressure displays, manifold temperature displays, mud gas separator pressure and temperature displays, u tube pressure displays, liquid seal level alarms and any other relevant signals.

State’s control panels provide hydraulic power for the actuation of as many valves as the project requires. All panels have hand pumps in case of a loss of rig air pressure as standard but can also include hydraulic accumulators and battery boxes as extra emergency backup systems.

We can also provide remote control panels for the driller’s cabin; providing an identical set of displays and control as the local panel.

State can make use of PLC’s to allow features such as automatic valves sequencing to allow drilling fluids to be routed overboard or other emergency operations to be performed at the push of a single button. The use of PLC’s also allows the control panel to be easily integrated into other systems on the rig.
